Getting Started ​

Welcome. This page gets you oriented in a few minutes so you can pick a tutorial and start learning.

What is developers.sap.com ​

developers.sap.com is the free SAP learning portal. It hosts hundreds of step-by-step tutorials and curated missions across SAP product areas — from ABAP and the Business Technology Platform to Fiori, integration, and AI. The content is written and maintained by SAP teams and community contributors, and it's free for anyone to read.

Finding tutorials ​

Two ways to find what you need:

  • Browse by topic. The tutorial navigator lists tutorials grouped by product area, role, and skill level. Use it when you're exploring a topic and want to see what's available.
  • Search by keyword. Type into the search bar to find tutorials, missions, and concepts by name. Searches match titles, descriptions, and tags.

Missions are curated multi-tutorial paths around a goal — for example, "Build your first cloud application." They're a good starting point if you want a guided experience rather than picking individual tutorials.

Signing in ​

You can read every tutorial without an account. Signing in is what unlocks the rest:

  • Your progress is saved across devices
  • Completions are recorded in your history
  • Event prizes are tied to your account
  • Joule chat history follows you between sessions

Sign-in uses your SAP universal ID — the same account you use elsewhere on SAP sites. Use the Sign In button in the top-right of any page.

The tutorial UI tour ​

When you open a tutorial, expect:

  • A step list (left side on desktop, top on mobile) with the steps in order
  • The current step's content in the middle, with diagrams and code samples inline
  • A validation quiz at the end of steps that have one — required to mark the tutorial complete
  • A rating widget at the bottom so you can tell us what worked
  • A floating Joule chat button — your in-page learning assistant

Diagrams render directly in the page, and code samples are styled and copyable.
